Well... apart from the snow causing our December meeting to be cancelled, we're back on track (pardon the pun!) and our January meeting is scheduled to go ahead as normal. The newsletter will be out on the street this week. If you don't get the newsletter and would like to see it, please let us know and we'll add you to our Email list. What a result! Thanks to the care and planning that went into the Celebrating The Shadows event at Loddon Valley, the day and evening was a tremendous success. Over £8,000 was raised for Children In Need. Well done to the organising committee, the bands, the sound and lighting folks and to Ray Liffen with his cameras and crew, who filmed the entire performance. The DVD will be available once it's completed by Ray and we will let you all know via this news bulletin and the Berkshire Shadows Forum as soon as it's ready. Well done, everyone!

Fantastic news! Due to the brilliant efforts from the 'Celebrating The Shadows' committee, the Children In Need event, planned for 20th November, is well and truly ON! The new website is now available at www.celebratingtheshadows.com and tickets are available both at that site and here on the Berkshire Club Site. To buy tickets here, simply CLICK HERE and choose the number of tickets you'd like. Please support this charitable event and help us help the children. Full details of the event are available now on the 'celebrating' website. Personally, we can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon and evening, listening to the music we all love AND helping the children into the bargain. Make sure you buy tickets early - we are expecting to be swamped with requests for tables - so get in fast!

The last five monthly meetings have absolutely rocked. We have exceeded all our expectations as a club and, due to the amount of interest and therefore members turning up to play, have decided to stage the occasional Sunday club meeting as an addition to the normal meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month. At this point, the next Sunday meeting is forecast to be the first Sunday in September 2009. Keep an eye on this space for more information and, of course, on the calendar page.

The "Christmas Bash" was absolutely superb and we had a massive turnout. Since day one the club has grown and grown and we now have folks coming from as far away as Swindon in the West and Watford and London in the East. We host beginners, folks who have been playing for years but never in public and never to a live band, and we have several spectacular guitar players who play flawlessly. What more could a club want than this sort of breadth of talent, making for afantastically entertaining evening once a month.

The ShadowMusic Web Community, The Friends Of The Shadows and The Shadows Are Here, are now all back together under one roof. The new website and forum can be reached at the normal address www.shadowmusic.co.uk. There is a great new website and a brilliant new forum, just ready for you to pop along and have a look. Join up and start reading and responding to messages on the message boards. If you want to have a look at the new Berkshire Club message board simply click on Forum in the above menu.

The DVD is available! Folks - this is not a profit-making exercise! The DVD will be available at the next club meeting (25th November) and there will be one or three advance copies available at Watford on 12th as Chris, Cindy and Eric will be there on the night and will take some with them. The cost for this DVD is £2 at club nights or plus P&P to you if you'd like it posted. The £2 only just covers the cost of the disc, the labels, the paper and the printer ink used to print the DVD label.

Please have a look at the DVD - it's a great example of what happens at Berkshire!

Absolutely fantastic! The general view at our inaugural club night was that the venue was exceptional, the sound good, the atmosphere top notch, the tea, cake and other refreshments first rate and that the welcome was the friendliest in the region. What good news! Such a relief to know that folks enjoyed it so much they've all said they will come again.

The Berkshire Shadows Club has it's first ever meeting planned for Tuesday 28th October 2008. It's been a hectic week but, the venue is booked, the gear is ready and we're hoping for a grand old evening of laughs, friendship and much good music.
